The one place to find out what’s on in the London music scene

The back pages aims to list every gig and club night in the lively city that’s of interest to music fans along with a line of description for each.  This way, it enables readers to quickly skim through listings to find the acts that appeal to them.

Andrew Chamberlain, the editor of the back pages, said, “As a music fan, London is an amazing place.  However, the sheer number of gigs and club nights that are on every week makes it difficult to keep on top of what’s going on.  The back pages should help people to avoid missing out on the great music that is played week in, week out in the city.”

In order to keep the magazine to a manageable length, jazz and classical music are not covered comprehensively.  In these categories, only gigs that cross over into other genres beyond jazz and classical are likely to be listed. Tribute acts, X Factor contestants and community choirs are also unlikely to be covered.

No current listings service makes finding new bands and DJs as easy as the back pages.  With current listings, the events are typically presented as a list of names without description.  Inevitably this leads to people only going to see acts with which they are already familiar with but with the basic information provided, the back pages encourages users to broaden their musical awareness.

By helping London’s music fans to take advantage of the cornucopia of new and innovative music that is on their doorsteps we hope to help give the city’s music scene a future that will be even more vibrant and exciting than the present.
